Dear Relatives,

I'm with the Native American Student Organization, and I'm hoping that you will feel the call to support in our inaugural powwow on Saturday, April 28.

You might have heard of powwows by other names, such as Celebration, Doing, Fair, Feast, Festival Gathering, Happening, Show and Union. It used to be that San Jose City College, De Anza, Evergreen, and West Valley had powwows and big-times. We haven't had one in many years, but we are CHANGING ALL THAT this year.

In these times of roller-coaster politics and economic pressures, we need a celebration and a festival more than ever before. I encourage you to step forth and join us in support of solidarity. Check out the history of powwows here. We will soon be posting five awesome reasons why attending a powwow is all that.

We need volunteers. The burden is light when there are many hands, and it will be fun! Please consider helping at this year's inaugural Community Powwow. Just fill out the form below. And if you have commitments that keep you from volunteering this year, then please forward this appeal to your circle. For more info, you can always

contact: nasosjsucouncilmembers@googlegroups.com. Thank you!
